Tree Trunk Tutorial Series (TTT) — Part 1, Episode 4 European Shoulder Construction — Back Increases This tutorial demonstrates the original Tree Trunk European Shoulder Construction — the foundation that later evolved into my Form & Fit© and Pick & Match© systems. In this episode we work the back increases that create the characteristic European Shoulder seam line and upper back shaping (marker placement and right and left leaning increases). The original Tree Trunk designs were developed as an early-generation shoulder construction system. The later Form & Fit© versions evolved further using fit and proportion principles inspired by tailoring and garment engineering from the sewing industry. These tutorials therefore focus on the construction principles and knitting techniques, while the newer Form & Fit© and Pick & Match© patterns contain the expanded shaping systems, modular sizing structure, and tailoring guidance.
