In Part 7 of the 1976 VW Transporter T2 restoration, we’re hitting a massive milestone: the welding is finally complete! In this episode, I finish up the spot welds on the side, tackle the rear quarter panel, and install a proper new battery tray. We also get the van back on its wheels, turn it around in the garage, and hear that engine fire up for the first time in 3 weeks. It's finally starting to look like a complete van again! Next up is the long process of grinding down the welds and starting the bodywork. In this video: Finishing the side panel welding VW T2 engine start-up (first time in 3 weeks!)
