Indonesia for a while | Cinematic Travel Film | Sony A7IV

A 17-day cinematic journey through Indonesia, from the streets of Jakarta and the cultural heart of Yogyakarta to the landscapes of Malang and the peaceful beauty of Ubud, Bali. This is not a travel vlog or a traditional Indonesia travel guide. No voiceover, no narration. Just places, people, food, streets, landscapes, moments, music and the feeling of being somewhere new. I travelled through Indonesia from Jakarta to Yogyakarta, then Malang, and finally Ubud in Bali during August and September 2026, carrying my camera and trying to capture the country as I experienced it. Java surprised me the most. Yogyakarta quickly became one of my favourite places on the trip. The city has an incredible mix of culture, food, history and everyday life, while still feeling affordable and easy to explore. Malang had a similar charm, with plenty of places to photograph, great food and a slower atmosphere that made it easy to spend time simply wandering around with a camera. I had hoped to see Mount Bromo, but because of the fire I had to miss it this time. Maybe that is a good reason to come back. Then came Ubud. The green landscapes, temples, cafés, food and slower pace made Ubud a completely different experience from Java. I did not get to explore the beach side of Bali on this trip, but Ubud was more than enough to make me want to return to Indonesia again.
