Stop making data errors in HEC-ResSim

The video covers the data requirements needed for ResSim (HEC-ResSim). 1. The video begins in the Watershed Setup Module. Issues with stream alignment, stream nodes, connecting tributaries, and direction of stream alignment are discussed. 2. The video then moves into the Reservoir Network Module of ResSim. This is where most of the development time in ResSim is spent. The physical characteristics such as the elevation-storage table, elevation-area table, evaporation, outlets in ResSim including hydropower plants are input here. Stream reaches and inflow locations are also modeled here. 3. The alternative editor in ResSim is then examined. In this editor, a simulation time step is entered, the operations sets used in the alternative are selected, the lookback data is entered, and the linking of DSS time series data is also entered. 4. Additionally, the development of a time series file in HEC-DSSVue is also shown. The conversion of daily time step data to hourly time step data is also shown in this video. 5. Finally, the Simulation Module is shown. It is in this Module that the lookback date and time, the start date and time, and the end date and time are entered for ResSim. Multiple alternatives can be simulated in ResSim to allow for comparison of results.
