ময়মনসিংহের হালুয়াঘাট উপজেলার ভবনকুড়া ইউনিয়নের দুর্গম সীমান্তগ্রাম ধোপাঝুড়ি—শেওয়াল নদী, গারো পাহাড়ের পাদদেশ, সীমান্তের কাঁটাতার আর মেঘালয়ের পাহাড় ঘেরা এক অন্যরকম জনপদ। এই যাত্রায় আমরা প্রথমে প্রবেশ করব দুর্গম পাহাড়ি বনভূমির ভেতর, যেখানে একসময় অনাবাদি বলে মনে হওয়া টিলা ও জমিগুলো আজ লাউ, ঝিঙা, জালকুমড়া, করলাসহ নানা ফসলে পরিপূর্ণ। কৃষকদের পরিশ্রমে পাহাড়ের ঢালে তৈরি হয়েছে বিস্ময়কর এক সবুজ কৃষিজগত। এরপর শেওয়াল নদীর পথ ধরে পৌঁছাব বাংলাদেশের একেবারে সীমান্তে—সীমান্ত পিলার, নো-ম্যানস ল্যান্ড, ভারতের মেঘালয়, ভারতীয় যানবাহন এবং সীমান্তের জীবন্ত বাস্তবতা দেখব খুব কাছ থেকে। সবশেষে আমরা ঢুকব ছোট্ট ধোপাঝুড়ি গারো গ্রামে—দেখব মাটির ঘর, মানুষের জীবনযাপন, প্রবীণদের দিনযাপন, কৃষির সঙ্গে তাদের সম্পর্ক এবং সীমান্তবর্তী এই জনগোষ্ঠীর সংগ্রামের গল্প। এটি শুধু একটি গ্রামের গল্প নয়; এটি পাহাড়, কৃষি, সীমান্ত ও মানুষের টিকে থাকার গল্প। Deep in the borderlands of Haluaghat, Mymensingh, lies Dhopajhuri, a small Garo indigenous village surrounded by the Shyewal River, forested hills and the Meghalaya frontier. This documentary takes you beyond the familiar roads into remote hill forests where seemingly difficult and unused land has been transformed into remarkably productive farmland. From bottle gourds and ridge gourds to wax gourds, bitter gourds and other crops, local farmers are cultivating an impressive green landscape on the hillsides. From there, we travel towards the Bangladesh–India border, following the Shyewal River to witness border pillars, no-man’s-land, Indian vehicles, Meghalaya’s landscape and the everyday reality of life beside an international frontier. Finally, we enter Dhopajhuri Garo village to explore its traditional homes, everyday life, indigenous culture and the struggles of people living in a remote border community.
