NYO2-USA 2026 Viola Audition (Rejected) Hoffmeister Viola Concerto in D Major: 0:00 Strum by Jessie Montgomery, Measures 37-44: 3:19 Tchaikovsky Symphony No.6, Mvmt 1., Measures 19-63: 3:37 Tchaikovsky Symphony No.6, Mvmt 1., Measures 86-88: 5:17 This audition was for sure last minute and I improved a lot through the experience of the audition process. Sadly I didn't make it in but I wouldn't change the fact that I auditioned. The Tchaikovsky 1st Excerpt was a very harsh recording session and took hours to get to how it is presented. There weren't a lot of viola videos on Youtube on people auditioning so I thought I would put mine out there. My Hoffmeister Viola Concerto I would say needed the most work in my audition but I'm not 100%. I have heard other viola recordings from this year and past years and I am for sure jealous of how clean they can get the excerpts. I did not do the ricochet on the Tchaikovsky 1st excerpt. I would appreciate any type of feedback as I am always looking to improve.
