SATAN’S A TUBE | James 4:7-10 | Pastor Dave Brackenridge

SATAN’S A TUBE | James 4:7-10 | Pastor Dave Brackenridge “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” James 4:7 The devil wants to tempt you, distract you, divide you, and then condemn you for the very sin he encouraged you to commit. But James gives Christians a clear command: RESIST HIM. In this message from James 4:7-10, Pastor Dave Brackenridge looks practically at what it means to submit to God, resist the devil, draw near to God, repent of sin, and humble ourselves before the Lord. How do you actually resist temptation? What does spiritual warfare look like in everyday life? Why does Satan want Christians fighting with each other? What does it really mean to draw near to God? The incredible promise of this passage is that Christians are able to resist the devil. Jesus has already defeated the enemy, and greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world. This message challenges Christians to stop making peace with sin, stop glorifying the life Jesus rescued us from, resist the enemy, and get close to God again. And if you don't yet know Jesus, the invitation of James is just as powerful: humble yourself, turn from sin and draw near to God. Through Jesus Christ, forgiveness and a new life are available to you.
