Starting into Taylor's Icon Sessions, a full 20-year retrospective at the Grammy Museum. Early on she talks about being a storyteller first and foremost, which got me reflecting on where I actually differ — growing up, the melody and how a song made me feel always came before the lyrics or the story for me.
There's also a great stretch on writing from a place of truth rather than chasing validation, and on how Taylor's curated her relationship with fans over the years — which had me thinking about artists who go the complete opposite way and stay totally private, like Cillian Murphy.
