How to sand and oil a jo and/or bokken to fix indentations and imperfections. List of material used: 80 grit 120 grit 180 grit 220 grit 320 grit 400 grit Every progressive grit will make the surface smoother and won't require s much sanding as the 80 grit. If a grade or 2 of grit is skipped, it's ok. Tung Oil (or Boiled Linseed Oil if you prefer a darker finish) Lint Free Shop Towels Gloves for sanding Mask for sanding (especially for exotic woods) Vinyl or Nitrile disposable gloves for oiling (latex free if you have allergies to latex) Bucket of water for glove and towel disposal after using the oil Fishing line works very well for the least amount of surface contact possible when working between coats. ** SIDE NOTE ** Moving forward with using tires as training gear, nylon rope will be wrapped on the tires to prevent the rubber markings on the weapons.
