When you’re capable, experienced, and accessible, it’s easy to become the person everyone comes to for answers. It feels helpful. It feels efficient. It can even feel like good leadership. But over time, you may accidentally train your team to bring their thinking to you instead of developing their own judgment. In this episode, I’ll unpack why being everyone’s answer person can keep you buried in the day-to-day, how an open door can become an open decision queue, and why the question “What do you recommend?” can shift the way your team thinks, decides, and leads. Because the goal of leadership isn’t to become the person who can solve every problem. It’s to develop people who don’t need you to.
