No.1 Lord Roberts new livery

The industrial steam locomotive NCB No. 1 'Lord Roberts' has debuted a new livery for the 2026 season at the Bo'ness & Kinneil Railway. The locomotive's public debut in this new livery took place during the weekend of 28th and 29th March 2026. The repaint was completed over an intensive three-week period in March 2026 by the Bo'ness railway's steam department paint squad. Current Status and New Livery Historically, the locomotive was famous for its "Thomas the Tank Engine" blue livery, serving as a licensed replica for "Day Out With Thomas" events for over 30 years. However, in early 2026, the railway decided to pause these events and repainted the engine into a smart "Caley Blue" livery, inspired by the elegant colours of the Caledonian Railway.
