The Only Real Photos of Venus Are 43 Years Old — and Something Moved

The only real photographs of the surface of Venus are 43 years old. And in three of them, taken 90 minutes apart, the same object appears to have moved. It was almost certainly a lens cap. Almost. Nobody looked closely at those images for thirty years — and the last machine to stand on Venus died in 1982. This is a ~28-minute documentary on the machines we sent to Venus, why every one of them died, and the 43-year-old images that are still the only real photographs of the surface next door.
