The journey travels through the Mackinac Bridge / Mackinaw City area, Munising, Michigan, Au Train, Michigan, and Marquette, Michigan showcasing the scale and natural beauty of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula from a perspective that can only be experienced from the air. From the massive suspension spans of the Mackinac Bridge to the turquoise and deep-blue waters surrounding Munising and Au Train, this film was created to capture the quieter, more atmospheric side of Northern Michigan — long stretches of wilderness, Great Lakes shoreline, rocky cliffs, forests, open water, and the feeling of exploring one of the most scenic parts of the United States. Many scenes were originally recorded at 60 frames per second and incorporated into a 30fps cinematic timeline to allow for smooth slow-motion movement while preserving detail throughout the landscapes. The video is presented in a cinematic widescreen format to emphasize the scale of the shoreline, forests, cliffs, open water, and aerial views. Farther south, the Mackinac Bridge spans the Straits of Mackinac and connects Michigan’s Lower Peninsula with the Upper Peninsula.
