#RootedAndReady #AlternativeHeat #OffGridCooking 🔥 Building an Alternative Heat Source & Off-Grid Cooking Setup! | Rooted & Ready What if you could heat your home, heat your summer canning kitchen, and cook your meals without relying on electricity or natural gas? That’s exactly what I had in mind with this project! Welcome back to Rooted & Ready with Jubee Mays! 🌲 When I built my separate kitchen for canning, I wanted it away from the house so the heat from canning during the hot summer months wouldn't heat up our home. But there was one thing I wanted to improve. I had built a walkway connecting the house to the kitchen, and I eventually decided to close that walkway in and install a wood stove between the two buildings. That turned a simple enclosed walkway into something much more useful! 🔥 Here’s what this setup gives me: Alternative home heating: I can use the wood stove to help heat the house. Kitchen heating: I can keep the kitchen warm when I need it. Heat both spaces: With the right setup and airflow, I can use the stove to serve both areas. An alternative way to cook: The stove gives me another option for preparing food. Greater self-sufficiency: If we lose electricity or natural gas, I have another way to stay warm and cook without depending on those utilities. The goal is simple: prepare today so we're better equipped for tomorrow. Whether you're interested in homesteading, canning, emergency preparedness, or becoming more self-reliant, sometimes the best solutions come from looking at what you already have and finding ways to make it work harder for you. You don't have to live completely off-grid to benefit from having backup options! Let me know in the comments! Thanks for watching, and remember: stay rooted, stay ready, and keep learning! — Jubee Mays ⚠️ Safety note: Wood stoves require proper clearances, suitable heat shielding, a correctly installed chimney, and adequate ventilation. Never use an indoor wood stove without proper installation and carbon monoxide protection. Heating adjoining spaces requires a safe, code-compliant design. #RootedAndReady #AlternativeHeat #OffGridCooking#RootedAndReady #JubeeMays #AlternativeHeat #WoodStove #OffGridLiving #SelfSufficientLiving #EmergencyPreparedness #PrepperLife #Homesteading #OffGridCooking #WoodHeat #CanningKitchen #FoodPreservation #HomesteadLife #SurvivalSkills #PowerOutagePreparedness #Preparedness #SustainableLiving #CountryLiving #BeReady
