How Kundalini Awakening Begins: The Hatha Yoga Secret
What really happens before Kundalini awakening begins?
Ancient Hatha Yoga traditions describe Kundalini awakening as a much deeper process than simply feeling heat, vibrations, or unusual sensations during meditation. This video explores the traditional yogic relationship between Prana, Apana, Agni, Prana–Apana union, Bandhas, and Sushumna Nadi.
According to traditional yogic texts, Apana has a downward-moving tendency, while Prana is associated with an upward and inward movement. Hatha Yoga places special emphasis on transforming these opposing movements and directing the vital energies toward a more integrated state.
We also explore the role traditionally attributed to Jatharagni or Yogic Agni, the significance of Samana Vayu around the navel region, and why Sushumna Nadi becomes central in advanced Hatha Yoga philosophy.
The video also explains an important distinction: experiencing physical heat, sweating, vibrations, or unusual sensations during meditation should not automatically be interpreted as Kundalini awakening. Traditional descriptions of Kundalini are considerably broader and involve changes in attention, mental stability, pranic movement, and consciousness.
You will learn about:
• Kundalini awakening in traditional Hatha Yoga
• Prana and Apana Vayu
• The role of Agni in yogic symbolism
• Samana Vayu and the navel region
• Mula, Uddiyana and Jalandhara Bandha in theory
• Prana entering Sushumna according to traditional texts
• Ida, Pingala and the middle channel
• The relationship between breath, Prana and mind
• The deeper meaning of “Chale Vate Chalam Chittam”
• Why Kundalini should not be reduced to physical sensations
This video is presented as a study of traditional yogic philosophy and textual concepts, not as a substitute for qualified instruction. Advanced breathwork, bandhas, kumbhaka, or Kundalini-oriented practices should be approached carefully and, where appropriate, under experienced guidance.
