What if the strongest tool to save one of the world's most iconic endangered animals isn't a vaccine or a captive breeding program, but a strip of planted trees?
In this episode of Tales from the Trees (new title hehe), we drove from Vancouver to the Northern Rivers of New South Wales, then down to the Tarwin River in Victoria, to stand inside the koala corridors: the hand-planted highways being stitched into cleared paddocks to connect a species that's running out of forest. We break down what a corridor actually is, why planting trees on its own isn't enough, and how one hyper-local koala in Victoria is quietly rewriting what conservation in Australia has to look like.
Fair warning, we snuck in some bad puns. We regret nothing.
