I did exactly the same plenum and BCB thing you did on your 40 gal breeder as I also have Ranchu Goldfish and I have 0 Ammonia, 0 Nitrite and 0 Nitrate after pouring half a bottle of pellets, 48 hrs. food rotten yet 0,0,0. I'm impressed.
