Chicago's Newest Developments - Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center The Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center’s renovation will transform the Lakeview community. Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center is in the process of a $645 million expansion and modernization project of its Lakeview campus. It will include the construction of a new four-story addition to the hospital's Center for Advanced Care, a five-story bed tower, and the demolition of three outdated buildings. And it is expected to be completed in 2030 The Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center opened the Center for Advanced Care on April 27, 2015. It caters to three medical specialties—cancer care, digestive health and outpatient surgery services.. In 2021, this new facility for outpatient physical therapy and sports medicine and a five-story parking garage was finished. The Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center has also expanded the Center for Advanced Care. Aside from adding operating rooms and prep and recovery rooms, there are now conference rooms, a café, and a library of health-related resources inside the site. On the ground floor of the Center for Advanced Care building will be the hospital’s Breast Center, which offers mammography and breast ultrasounds. The last part of this renovation project is a new vertical expansion tower with added bed space. The L-shaped addition will sit on top of both hospital buildings. The Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center project could finish by June 2030, upon approval from the Illinois State Board. Not only does it meet the growing demand for healthcare services in the Lakeview community, it also creates more job opportunities and boosts the local economy. It is also expected to generate $1.5 billion in economic activity for Chicago. All in all, this will increase migration into the community and increase overall property values in the area.
