In this episode, we explore the unique Balti culture and lifestyle of Turtuk, walk through its beautiful narrow lanes, see the traditional houses and meet the local people. Turtuk is very different from the usual Ladakh tourist destinations, and spending some time here gives you a glimpse of a much simpler way of life. From Turtuk, we continue towards Thang Village, one of the northernmost villages of India, located very close to the India–Pakistan Line of Control. The landscape on this route is absolutely incredible—rugged mountains, the Shyok River, remote roads and almost no signs of civilization. But the return journey had something completely unexpected waiting for us! A sudden Sandstorm, falling darkness and difficult roads made our ride back towards Hunder a completely different experience. Riding a motorcycle through the storm at night was definitely one of the toughest moments of our Ladakh trip.
