Precious Ovat is a Landscape Architect and an International Architect, who completed a Master of Architecture in Bells University, Nigeria, and a Master of Landscape Architecture degree at Newcastle University, United Kingdom. He is passionate about the advancement of the fields and contributes through public speaking, mentorship, research and philanthropy. He is the founder of the Ovat's Architecture Foundation, who's vision is to position African architecture among the world's leading drivers of innovation, sustainability, and economic development by recognising excellence, investing in emerging talent, and creating platforms that shape the future of the built environment. His lecture challenges the way landscape success is currently measured in Egypt. It introduces the concept of the "green illusion" and argues that the country must move beyond judging projects by what is visible on opening day and rather evaluate what landscapes deliver throughout their lifetime.
