World Hails Indian Captain Smit: Why Are Gandhis Silent? BJP Cites 'Votebank Compulsions' | Newshour

In this episode of Newshour, anchor Pratibha discusses the political controversy over reactions to Indian pilot Captain Smit Machchhar’s bravery during the Flydubai cockpit attack. The BJP has questioned the absence of public remarks from Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi, alleging that political considerations were behind their silence. Congress leaders, however, have publicly praised Machchhar, with party president Mallikarjun Kharge and general secretary Jairam Ramesh commending his courage and presence of mind. The episode examines the BJP-Congress war of words, the competing claims over the Gandhis’ response and the wider political debate surrounding Captain Smit Machchhar. #captainsmitmachchhar #smitmachchhar #flydubai #flydubaiattack #rahulgandhi #soniagandhi #priyankagandhi #bjp #congress #mallikarjunkharge #jairamramesh #newshour #timesnow #englishnews Times Now - Times Now News channel examines news with in-depth analysis.
