LABELED Armor Mod. by ? Hydraulic Elevator at South Hayward BART Station (SB) in Hayward, CA

This station has 2 platforms, with 1 elevator at each, but with an interesting setup. To access the southbound platform, you can either go under the tracks, or over a bridge above the tracks. Going under the tracks requires going down stairs from ground level (entrance), which seems to be why the bridge exists. For step-free access to the southbound platform, you take the northbound elevator up to the bridge, then take the southbound elevator down to the platform. The southbound elevator ONLY serves the bridge, it does not go down to the tunnel. This was unexpected! These are the most original elevators I have found on the BART system, though they ARE modded, just a lighter mod. According to BART public records, this elevator is running on an HMC-1000-P (MCE) controller. The panel above the car station is original and is LABELED Armor!!! This 100% confirms that the elevators in the original BART system are Armor installations. Finding a labeled Armor installation is very rare in California, and this was NOT something I expected to find at a BART station. I'm unsure how many/few similar elevators exist in the BART system, but many if not most elevators received a heavier mod with a car position indicator added and the Armor panel removed.
