Welcome to Mountain Valley Natural Living with Vickie Today I’m sharing how I make three beautiful botanical infusions that I use in many of my Mountain Valley Naturals skincare creations: Real Frankincense Resin Infusion, Real Myrrh Resin Infusion, and Organic Rosehip Infusion. I love making my own infusions because I can choose the carrier oil, the botanicals, and exactly what goes into the products I make for my family and Mountain Valley Naturals. WHAT YOU WILL NEED • Crock pot • Measuring cups and utensils • Clean glass jars, at least 1 cup size • Fresh, good-quality frankincense resin • Fresh, good-quality myrrh resin • Organic rosehips • Carrier oil of your choice • Something to grind or crush the resins before infusing • Strainer or cheesecloth for the finished infusion REAL FRANKINCENSE RESIN INFUSION For my infusion I use: 1/4 cup ground frankincense resin 1/2 cup apricot kernel oil Frankincense has been treasured for centuries and is one of my favorite botanicals for mature skincare. I love using this infusion in face balms, creams, oils, and other nourishing skin products. REAL MYRRH RESIN INFUSION For my infusion I use: 1/4 cup ground myrrh resin 1/2 cup apricot kernel oil Myrrh is another traditional resin that I love pairing with frankincense. It is especially beautiful in rich balms, creams, facial oils, and products made for dry or mature skin. ORGANIC ROSEHIP INFUSION For my rosehip infusion I use: About 1/2 cup organic rosehips About 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil Rosehips are naturally rich in beneficial plant compounds and are wonderful for nourishing mature, dry, or weathered skin. I use this infusion in many of my face and body creations. CHOOSING YOUR CARRIER OIL You do not have to use the same oils that I use. Choose an oil you already have on hand, one you have an abundance of, or one that works best for what you plan to make. For facial balms, creams, and other face products, I personally love apricot kernel oil or jojoba oil because they are beautiful, lightweight choices for facial skincare. I used apricot kernel oil for my frankincense and myrrh resin infusions and extra virgin olive oil for my rosehip infusion. These handmade botanical oils can become the starting point for so many wonderful creations, from facial oils and balms to creams, body butters, salves, and more. Thank you for watching! Until next time, may you and your family be truly blessed. ❤️ #mountainvalleynaturals #herbalinfusion #oilinfusion #frankincense #myrrh #rosehips #apricotkerneloil #jojobaoil #oliveoil #naturalskincare #diySkincare #herbalskincare #matureskin #homemadeskincare #naturalliving
