This Ultimate Camping Spot Transformed a Cold Winter's Night into Cosy Relaxed Wilderness Bliss

In this immersive, genuine wilderness camping experience I take you along with me as I venture into the Arthur's Pass National Park, in New Zealand, for a night out camping alongside a river. I had a tough alpine climb planned but my body was telling me it needed something more low key. I am so glad I listened and changed my plans at the last minute. Instead I followed a river up a remote valley, crossing the river and climbing over the rocks until I came upon a raised terrace with the perfect spot for my tent, and the perfect spot for a winter campfire. With the temperature dropping to -5 degrees celcius overnight, the warmth of the campfire was just what I needed to settle down and relax, surrounded by the beautiful sights and sounds of this wild place. I am usually out camping in the rain, but tonight's camp was dry and still. It was so relaxing, and exactly what I needed to reset myself, ready to face the challenges of life.
