Inside the Factory Producing Swan’s Most Luxurious Bluewater Sailboats | Heel & Hull Documentary
Nearly 2,400 Swans have come out of one icebound town on Finland's Gulf of Bothnia, and almost everything inside them is made there. This 20-minute investigative documentary goes inside the legendary Nautor's Swan shipyards: the five aerospace composite halls at Kållby where multi-million-dollar pre-preg carbon hulls are cured under vacuum and inspected with ultrasound; the Kronoby joinery where Burmese teak veneers are hand-stitched and a physical timber sample from every Swan ever built is preserved in the Wood Library; and the Jakobstad assembly halls where Finnish shipwrights wait for the Arctic sea to thaw before launching these iconic bluewater thoroughbreds.
