Duke Nukem Ray Traced & Voxels Mod | E1 L.A Meltdown | 100% Secrets | Wranker 4K Playthrough

Full playthrough of Duke Nukem Atomic Edition Episode 1 - L.A. Meltdown with all secrets. This is the Ray Traced modded version of the game with the 3D Voxels mod, giving all the original flat textures a 3D makeover. I'm not sure if I love it or not, it's really fun to see Duke 3D look different, but at the same time, I really do think the original game is a work of art, and I love the look of the original Build Engine. Just of be clear, I am not a great Duke 3D player, There are people that can absolutely destroy this game. This is the first time I have played the game in around 2 years, so if you are after top tier Duke ability, this is not the video for you, just consider this a normal bloke playing some Duke 3D. I only play the first episode here to make timestamping the secrets easier, I will release the other episodes in the future. This was played on "Come Get Some" difficulty as I have no interest in the respawning enemies of "Damn, I'm Good" This is not a resource cheap mod to run, even pining the RTX5090 to 100% and a Ryzen 9 9950X3D, the game cannot hit 60fps in 4K due to the amount of unoptimized voxels loaded. While this was filmed in 4K, I could only run the game in windowed 1440p and still hit 60ish FPS. The Ray Traced mod alone runs great, so if you have less powerful hardware, turning off the voxel mod will make the game far more playable. I'm not throwing shade, this is still considered experimental, and the work on this mod is impressive. Plus, I'm sure optimisations will be made over time, much like DOOM 2 Voxels. So bear in mind, the game might run much better in the future than the footage I captured. If you would like to try this, all you need is to have the Atomic Edition of Duke (has to be Atomic) https://store.steampowered.com/app/43... I have no idea if a "questionably obtained" version works as I just bought it on Steam. Download the RT Raze Mod https://github.com/postmemetic/Duke-RT. Download Voxel Mod https://www.moddb.com/mods/voxel-duke... and place the unpacked voxel_duke3d.zip in the "Duke-RT" folder and launch the game through "launch-duke-rt.cmd", the installer will build it all for you.
