Bengali Devotional Songs | Shyama Sangeet | Maa Kali Songs | Ramprasadi Songs

Presenting Bengali Devotional Songs & Ramprasadi Songs, a collection of Shyama Sangeet or Maa Kali songs with 12 mesmerizing tracks by Bhabani Das. Shyama Sangeet is a genre of Bengali devotional songs dedicated to the Hindu goddess Shyama or Kali. It is also known as Shaktagiti or Durgastuti. The term 'Shyama' refers to the skin color of Kali which is usually depicted in black or deep blue. Shyama Sangeet appeals to the common man because it is a musical representation of the relationship of eternal love and care between the mother and her child. It is free of the common rituals of worship and also the secretive practice of the Tantra. Shyama sangeet becomes popular at the time of Sri Ramkrishna Paramahansa, who was an intense Kali bhakta/devotee. Shyama Sangeet or Maa Kali songs have always been an essential part of Bengali Devotional Songs. This album is a compilation of 12 such tracks of Shyama Sangeet.
