Civic Engagement: Necessary or Optional

In this Friday Jumu'ah Khutbah of Nov 6, 2026 our Imam Dr. Hamid Slimi makes some observations in regard the recent elections and why it is important and vital to be engaged in the world of politics with the intention to serve and represent our communities in the societies where we live. The recent Islamophobia campaigns against the Muslims in the Americas and Europe show how critical is the representation in governments at all levels. The absence of Muslim participation is detrimental to the future of Muslims in this part of the world and failure to engage will only increase in marginalizing Muslims.
