This song is incredibly close to my heart, and it’s probably one of the most personal covers I’ve worked on so far. It’s also a little late compared to when I originally wanted to post it; I’ve been working on the lyrics, artwork, recording, and editing for a really long time, and there were definitely moments where I wasn’t sure if I would end up posting it at all. When I first heard this song, it immediately reminded me of all the things I wish I could say to my younger self (especially now that I’ve finished my first year of university). When writing these lyrics, I tried my best to preserve the original meaning of the song while also making it more genuine and personal to my own experiences and emotions. Because of that, some lines are adapted rather than directly translated, but it’s from a place of wanting to capture the same feelings that made me fall in love with the song in the first place. I really hope this cover helps more people connect with the song through English, and maybe even see a little bit of themselves in it too.
