Song of Songs chapter 1 is a beautiful song of love— of opening our hearts, discovering beauty in one another, and finding joy in simply being together. Like a day touched by warm sunlight, a fragrance carried on the breeze, or a little flower blooming in dry ground, love brings beauty into our ordinary moments. Even before we begin to seek the Lord, God is already calling us with His love. In that love, which embraces us just as we are, even in our weakness, new joy begins to blossom in our hearts. Even when we have wandered far, the Lord continues to call us with His unchanging love.
