8th September 2026 daily stitching - stitch a little conifer tree

Today I'm using one of the pre-cut shapes that come with my 2026 templates to make a little conifer tree. I'm outlining it with cotton perle 8 and stitching the blanket stitch filling with fine cotton (perle 12) - one or two strands of DMC-type floss would be just as good. The trunk is herringbone stitch in fine silk, and the background is fine silk running stitch. You'll probably notice that my blanket stitches become more square as I work across the tree shape - I probably lost some concentration through checking the camera view and talking.
