In 1991, a forensic team opened a grave in San Vicente, a mining village high in the mountains of southern Bolivia. It was supposed to hold Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. The bones inside belonged to a German miner. His sister swore that Butch came home to Utah in 1925 and ate blueberry pie at the family table. A man in Spokane left a manuscript that seemed only Butch could have written. That man turned out to be somebody else.
