NEW FOREST WALK at WEST WELLOW COMMON, PLAITFORD COMMON & CANADA COMMON (Inc STURTMOOR POND) (4K)

In this episode of my series “New Forest Walks”, I take a 5.5 mile circular walk from West Wellow Common (located 4 miles West of Romsey.) Once again I am accompanied by my Whippet, Fiver. I parked my car at a free car park on the Eastern side of West Wellow Common, Canada and made my way Northwards, across the Common, to a Trig Point. I then left the Common and stepped over the New Forest Boundary into West Wellow (the signs on the road referred it as just Wellow) and made a small detour along a path by the A36 to the Red Rover pub. I then re-traced my steps and headed West, alongside the A36 to the village of Plaitford, passing by the Village Hall & the Shoe Inn. Just to the East of the Shoe Inn, I crossed over the A36 and walked back into the New Forest, to Plaitford Common. After initially following the line of some electricity pylons, I continued South across Plaitford Common to the pretty Sturtmoor Pond and then on the outskirts of Deazle Wood. My route then took my Eastwards to Canada Common and then on to the small settlement of Canada. My final destination was The Rockingham Arms at Canada. NB: MY “DUCK” - WHO HAS MADE REGULAR CAMEO APPEARANCES IN RECENT VIDEOS ON THE CHANNEL - DID NOT FEATURE IN THIS VIDEO!
