Why This 'Trusted' German Pistol Actually Let Its Own Soldiers Down

For decades, the Langenhan Armee Modell has been remembered, when it is remembered at all, as just another interchangeable German pocket pistol from the First World War. What most accounts leave out is why soldiers who actually carried it started quietly trusting it a little less as the war went on. That reputation misses the actual story. This video breaks down how a small mechanical compromise built into the pistol's own safety mechanism slowly turned from an engineering footnote into something soldiers in the field learned to handle with real caution. Not because the pistol was dangerous. Because it could not always be trusted to do the one job a safety mechanism exists to do. #WW1 #WWIhistory #LangenhanPistol #militaryhistory #Germany #firearms #WorldWarOne #engineering
