Die Lustigen Hammerschmiedgsölln - Austrian Folk Song [Piano+Lyrics]

"Mir san ja die lustigen Hammerschmiedgsölln " (We are jolly carpenters), also known by various other spelling variations, is an Austrian folk song and dance attributed as being traditional to the province of Styria. The melody appears around 1850 as the Wienerlied (Viennese song) "A Damferl im Kopf" (similar to "Zwa harbere Göden", an earlier Wienerlied around 1840). It appears as a Schnadahüpflweise in Franz Kobell's "Oberbayrischen Liedern", 2nd Edition, Munich 1871, and in Franz Friedrich Kohl's "Echten Tiroler Liedern", Vienna 1899; as well as a Vogtland folk dance melody in 1876 with Hermann Dunger. It is also known as Altausseer Tanz (Steyrischer Walzer - I laß ma koa Strass nit baun) and bears great similarity to the Erzgebirge folk song "Dr Vuglbeerbam". «»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«» Disclaimer: All videos are apolitical.
