Interview with Amy Parris, Costume Designer of Stranger Things

Stranger Things is an American television series created by the Duffer Brothers for Netflix. The fifth and final season was released in three volumes, including the finale, in November and December 2025. In this video, I interview series costume designer Amy Parris *Warning, there are spoilers for Stranger Things all seasons. She began her design career early on, making clothes for herself and her high school friends. Taught to sew by her grandmother, Amy later honed her design skills at California State University Long Beach. Amy has been working in the film and tv industry since college when she began designing music videos for bands. With the belief that a character's story can be told visually through their clothing, Amy works collaboratively with both actors and directors to make the scripts come to life. Amy has worked on a variety of film and television series of different time periods and genres, including Showtime's "Yellowjackets" and Netflix's "Stranger Things'' including an upcoming feature with Stranger Things alumni Millie Bobby Brown on, "Just Picture It". Amy's costume designs from "Stranger Things" seasons 3, 4 and 5 have resulted in collections with top US brands such as Levis, Quiksilver, H&M, Hot Topic and Pac Sun. The final season resulted in a collaboration and capsule collection with global fashion brand Benetton.
