People Are Using TikTok Live Like a Personal ATM

Open the app, start a livestream and ask the audience to cover the next expense. These clips feature people requesting money for groceries, phone bills, rooms and rent — alongside viewers questioning how this became such a familiar part of TikTok. Donation goals, payment handles and demands for virtual gifts keep the money requests moving. One moment it’s a few dollars at the checkout. The next it’s another bill that needs paying. Critics are asking whether followers are supporting creators or being recruited to fund their everyday lives. Would you keep donating if every livestream came with another request for cash? #TikTok #TikTokLive #OnlineBegging #CashApp #InternetCulture
