Rattlesnake - POV (CWA)

Rattlesnake is an operating steel Wild Mouse roller coaster located at Chessington World of Adventures Resort in Greater London, UK. Manufactured by Maurer Söhne (Wilde Maus Classic model) and designed by Werner Stengel, the ride officially opened in 1998. Originally situated in the Mexicana area of the park, it was rethemed to the Forbidden Kingdom section. Key Ride Specifications • Height: 49.25 feet (15.01 metres) • Length: 1,213 feet (370 metres) • Top Speed: 28 mph (45 km/h) • Inversions: 0 • Design Feature: Due to strict local green belt planning restrictions, the ride was built inside a freshly excavated pit, which enhances its subterranean mine-shaft theme. Rider Restrictions & Safety • Minimum Height: 1.40 metres (4 ft 7 in) • Maximum Height: 1.96 metres • Physical Constraints: Maximum torso/chest size of 51 inches. • Capacity: Maximum of 4 persons (or 3 adults) up to a total weight of 300 kg per mine cart. • Medical Prohibitions: Expectant mothers and individuals with heart, blood pressure, back, or neck conditions are prohibited from riding. • Accessibility: Riders must possess full upper body strength and head/neck control. A minimum of three full limbs is required; individuals with leg amputations or arm amputations above the elbow are not permitted to ride. The Ride Experience The attraction is themed as a runaway mine cart adventure. True to the standard Wild Mouse layout, it delivers sharp, unbanked 180-degree hairpin turns that generate strong lateral G-forces, followed by sudden drops and airtime hills. An on-ride camera captures photos during the experience. While popular for its detailed theming, the ride frequently receives feedback from enthusiasts for having a somewhat jerky, rough tracking experience and stark, heavy braking zones.
