Join us on Day 1 of our road trip from Bangalore to Wayanad! 🚗🍃 ​We kicked off the journey early morning, taking in the scenic highway views, lush greenery, and smooth roads as we crossed into Kerala. Our first major stop was the breathtaking Banasura Sagar Dam—the largest earthen dam in India—surrounded by misty mountains and tranquil waters. ​After taking in the views, we headed straight to the legendary 1980's A Nostalgic Restaurant in Kalpetta for an authentic Kerala-style lunch served on banana leaves. 🍲✨ In the evening, we took a serene nature walk from our peaceful stay, Hill View Heights Homestay, back to 1980's Restaurant for a cozy evening snack session! We fueled up on fresh tea, coffee, hot pazham pori (banana fritters), chicken rolls, and traditional Kerala street eats.
