Kraków is one of Poland’s most visited cities — but how much is there actually to see in the Old Town, and which attractions are really worth your time? In this complete visitor’s guide, I explore Kraków Old Town from the historic entrance at the Barbican and Florian Gate through Floriańska Street and into the spectacular Rynek Główny. Along the way, we’ll visit St Mary’s Basilica, Sukiennice, Planty, Grodzka Street and some of Kraków’s best museums, while also looking at restaurants, bars, markets, quirky tourist attractions and some quieter places to escape the crowds. I’ll also give you my own impressions after visiting Kraków many times: what I recommend, what you can probably skip, where you can find some hidden gems, and why this beautiful city can also be one of the most crowded, commercial and expensive places to visit in Poland.
