In this video I build and deploy a Lovable app in a way you've probably never seen: no Lovable Cloud, no Supabase. Instead, I connect Lovable to GitHub and deploy through Instapods — so you get your own URL, your own backend, and most importantly, you're not locked into Lovable's ecosystem. By the end, you'll know a workflow that works with any AI app builder.

Lovable Cloud is convenient, but convenience means lock-in. The skill this video teaches — pushing your builder's code to GitHub and connecting your own hosting and backend — gives you the power to use whatever service you want, with any AI app builder.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
THE WORKFLOW:
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
1️⃣ BUILD THE FRONT END IN LOVABLE
I prompt a waitlist landing page (not functional yet), Lovable generates three design directions, and I pick one — no Lovable Cloud enabled.
2️⃣ CONNECT LOVABLE TO GITHUB
Bottom left → GitHub → connect. Now every change you make in Lovable automatically pushes to your repository.
3️⃣ DEPLOY ON INSTAPODS
Paste your repo URL into Instapods — it auto-detects Node.js, sets up the pod, and deploys. You get an always-on URL with a real server, no VPS, Docker, or SSL setup. The $3/month plan covers prototypes; the Build plan adds a database so you can fully replace the Lovable backend.
4️⃣ KEEP BUILDING — WITHOUT LOCK-IN
Add features in Lovable and watch Lovable Dev Bot push them to GitHub. Because it's all in your repo, you can also push changes from Claude Code or Codex on your own machine — and they sync back to Lovable. Custom domains connect through Instapods too.

KEY TAKEAWAYS:
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
💡 Lovable Cloud is convenient, but it locks you in — GitHub is your way out
💡 Instapods complements your builder as the host + deploy layer; it doesn't replace it
💡 A flat $3/month means no surprise bills, and it scales up when you need more
💡 Once your code is in GitHub, Lovable, Claude Code, and Codex can all work on the same app
💡 Connecting a builder to GitHub + an alternative backend is a fundamental AI-building skill
