Write description for Youtube video on UNEP report 2026 Searched the web I assumed you mean UNEP’s Emissions Gap Report 2026: The Point of Return, the big UNEP report out now. If you meant a different one (e.g. the Adaptation Gap or the Sand report), tell me and I’ll rewrite it. Title idea: UNEP Emissions Gap Report 2026 Explained: The World Will Overshoot 1.5°C. What Now? Description: The 1.5°C target is no longer achievable in its original form, according to the UN Environment Programme’s new Emissions Gap Report 2026. So what does that mean for climate policy, and is there still a way back? In this video, we break down the report’s key findings in simple terms. trendingtopics What’s covered in this video: 🌍 Where we are: Global greenhouse gas emissions were 58.4 billion tonnes of CO2e in 2025, slightly below the previous year, but the dip came mainly from fewer wildfires while fossil fuel emissions kept rising.  🌡️ Where we’re heading: Current policies point to about 2.8°C of warming by 2100. Full delivery of all climate plans plus net-zero pledges gets to roughly 2.1°C.  📉 The gap: New national climate plans cut emissions only 11 to 15 percent by 2035, while a 1.5°C-return pathway needs about 45 percent.  🔁 “The Point of Return”: The report models a “lowest possible” overshoot scenario in which peak warming stays around 1.7-1.8°C and temperatures come back to 1.5°C by 2100. This needs emissions cuts of 18% by 2030, 45% by 2035 and 69% by 2040, relative to 2025. ✅ The good news: Renewables have boomed, coal and oil growth has been slower than projected, and climate policies have cut emissions in many places. Scaling up what works could still make a difference.  ⏳ Why delay matters: Every five years of delay locks in roughly another 0.1°C of warming.  Key takeaway: Overshooting 1.5°C is now a near-certainty, but UNEP’s message is that overshoot “is not surrender”. How high temperatures peak, and how long they stay there, still depends on the choices made now #UNEP #EmissionsGapReport #ClimateChange #ParisAgreement #GlobalWarming #Climate2026 #COP31 #upsc #success
