Lore: After Counterparts, Brian tried to grab Stewie and run, however he was too tired to pick him up after he was almost fully corrupted by Bertram. After awhile of panicking, Stewie let Brian run away, as he awaited for his demise. A few hours pass, and Stewie still hasn't died. Apparently, when Stewie was stabbed by Bertram, the corruption that pierced him surrounded his heart, protecting it. Just as Stewie tried to get up, Peter appeared from the woods, Scared and confused after the events of Surrounded. Peter and Stewie talk for a bit, before they hear rustling from the trees.
