This is a video tour of Morgan County and downtown West Liberty, the county seat, as it was before the EF-3 tornado that changed everything. On March 2, 2012, a mile-wide tornado with 140+ mph winds cut an 85-mile path through Eastern Kentucky and completely leveled downtown West Liberty. The 1907 courthouse, churches, businesses, and hundreds of homes were destroyed in minutes. This footage preserves what West Liberty looked like before that day — the streets, buildings, and landmarks that so many people remember.
