Keeping Chickens in a Hoophouse | Deep Bedding for Happy Chickens!

Where do pastured chickens go in winter? There's no grass, and it's too cold to be out on pasture. So here's our winter solution: We keep them in a hoop house. A special hoop house. It warms up during the day through the semi-clear plastic. The deep bedding gives off heat. They get fresh air and sunlight. We give them hay to eat (they love it!). The better you take care of your hens, the more eggs they'll lay. Simple as that. We're getting new pullets, and we gotta get the winter house ready!
