Sowore Alleges DSS Tracked His Location Before Ekiti Attack, Rejects Police Account

African Action Congress (AAC) presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore has accused Nigeria's Department of State Services (DSS) and individuals allegedly linked to the Ekiti State Government House of involvement in an attack on him and his campaign team in Ado-Ekiti. Sowore says armed men assaulted his entourage shortly after a radio interview, alleging that DSS operatives provided the attackers with his location and monitored his movements. He shared photographs showing himself and an aide receiving medical treatment. Sowore has also rejected the Ekiti State Police Command's description of the incident as an altercation, accusing Commissioner Falade Adegoroye Michael of downplaying the injuries. Police deny that Sowore was kidnapped and say an investigation has been ordered. The allegations against the DSS and state government remain unverified, with questions continuing over campaign security and political freedom before Nigeria's 2027 elections.
