ORION (OR-01) is a one-meter-tall robot originally built for industrial exploration and maintenance. After human civilization collapses, it survives alone beneath a dead city, wandering through abandoned underground facilities. While searching for a usable power source, ORION discovers a small plant that is somehow still alive—a rare sign of life in a world that has long since fallen silent. At the same time, an old defense system that has been dormant for decades suddenly reactivates. It identifies ORION as an “unauthorized autonomous intelligence.” Hunter machines, including HOUND-6, are immediately deployed to eliminate it. As ORION struggles to escape, it gradually realizes that the pursuit is no accident. Its true identity has been deliberately hidden: OR-01. Even other machines begin behaving strangely when they encounter it. Some shut down. Some flee. Others repeat the same disturbing warning: “You are not supposed to exist.” The clues eventually lead ORION toward ARCHIVE 12. Crossing the ruins of the dead city, it discovers an enormous graveyard filled with destroyed robots—and evidence of a mysterious program known as PROJECT EDEN.
