Fifty transactions, a blank QuickBooks file, no vendors, no history, no rules. This is how I actually work through a bank feed. The one thing I'd take away: sort by description, not by date. Everything from the same vendor groups together and you code fifty rows in one click instead of fifty. It's super useful when you're doing a cleanup or a client with a large amount of transactions per month. I'm importing from a CSV here rather than a live bank connection, because not every bank connects to QuickBooks even now, and plenty of credit cards never get linked. WHAT'S IN THIS ONE · Sorting by description so you can bulk-code · Tagging the same business as both a customer (C) and a vendor (V) · Building a payroll clearing account · "Interest paid" is written from the bank's point of view, not yours · Uncategorized income vs uncategorized expense, and which I use when · How often to actually code clients' feeds, and why weekly beats monthly · Three-column vs four-column CSVs, and why credit cards import backwards GET THE FILE Sample bank transactions (50 rows, CSV): https://drive.google.com/file/d/1dRIC... This is part of "So You Want to Be a Bookkeeper," where I teach the mechanics of doing this job the way a professional bookkeeper does it. #bookkeepingbasics #qbo #quickbooks #quickbookstutorial #quickbookstraining 0:00 Why I'm importing instead of connecting 0:36 Uploading the CSV 1:24 Three columns or four 1:52 Credit cards import backwards 3:02 Importing all 50 3:32 Sort by description, not by date 4:03 Three Amazons in one click 4:45 Money coming in — customer, not vendor 5:45 Payroll, and building a clearing account 7:40 The big takeaway 8:26 Tagging the same business (C) and (V) 8:50 "Interest paid" is the bank's wording, not yours 9:56 Uncategorized income vs expense 10:44 How often to actually run the feed Music: Haru (LoFi version) by Roa   / roa_music1031   License: Creative Commons — Attribution 3.0 Unported — CC BY 3.0 Free Download / Stream: https://links.al/lLm Music promoted by Audio Library: https://links.al/youtube
