Creole Clarinets 17 11 2024 ~ Live in het Peperhuis te Enkhuizen

De kern van de Creole Clarinets bestaat uit Thomas L’Etienne en Uli Wunner. Ondanks hun geografische uitersten, Hamburg versus München, zijn ze al meer dan 40 jaar goede muzikale vrienden. Publiek en recensenten verwijzen wel naar hen als "de tweeling" en de pers noemt hun samenspel wel "telepathisch". Thomas en Uli spelen zowel klarinet als saxofoon (tenor resp. alto). De muziek van de Crescent City is een geïntegreerd onderdeel van hun repertoire. Zo’n 10 jaar geleden zijn beiden ook gegrepen door de Martinique stukken en door de traditionele Braziliaanse Choro’s. De Choro muziek wordt ook wel de "New Orleans jazz van Brazilië” genoemd. De creatieve verscheidenheid van de muziek, de virtuositeit van hun spel en de zeer humoristische aankondigingen maken de ‘Creole Clarinets’ een veelgevraagde band op grote Jazzfestivals in heel Europa. The core of the Creole Clarinets consists of Thomas L’Etienne and Uli Wunner. Despite their geographical extremes, Hamburg versus Munich, they have been good musical friends for more than 40 years. Audiences and critics refer to them as “the twins” and the press calls their interplay “telepathic”. Thomas and Uli play both clarinet and saxophone (tenor and alto respectively). The music of the Crescent City is an integrated part of their repertoire. About 10 years ago, both were also captivated by the Martinique pieces and by the traditional Brazilian Choros. The Choro music is also called the “New Orleans jazz of Brazil”.
