Two Rangers. One town. Every other squad is an outlaw.
In our PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS, Pecado Rangers—the police force of Pecado on Miramar. Every plane brings new trouble to our town. We know its alleys, rooftops, and streets, and we’ll be there when the circle closes.
“THE LAW IN PECADO” is an original Western story ballad inspired by the storytelling cadence and verse-ending echoes of Marty Robbins’s “Big Iron.”
Lyrics:
There’s a town beneath the desert sun
Where the dust gets in your eyes
And every morning brings a plane
Full of trouble from the skies
They come for gold, they come for glory
They come to settle scores
But Pecado has two Rangers
Who still walk its streets at dawn (walk its streets at dawn)
My boy took watch above the square
I held the station door
We heard boots land by the arena
Then a rifle’s warning roar
He said, “They’re moving toward the houses”
I said, “Then we’ll meet them there”
We checked our gear and crossed the street
Through the dry and restless air (dry and restless air)
The first gang came in loud and laughing
Like the town was theirs to claim
They broke the windows by the market
And went hunting for our names
We caught one turning down the back street
Sent the others toward the square
My boy was waiting by the fountain
When they found him standing there (found him standing there)
Another crew came through the alleys
With their eyes upon the hill
They thought we’d left the town behind us
When the rooftops all went still
But we knew each wall and doorway
Every stairway, every stone
Pecado had been ours to guard
And we would protect our own (we would protect our own)
By sundown only one crew stood
Between the rooftops and the hill
They caught my boy out in the open
And for one long breath, all went still
I laid down smoke across the crossing
Ran to him beneath their fire
He said, “You should’ve left me, old man”
I said, “Get up. We’re not retired” (Get up. We're not retired)
The circle pressed against the houses
And drove the outlaws into view
My boy went left around the corner
While I held the avenue
They never saw him reach the rooftop
Never heard him take his place
The last one turned his back toward me
And met the Ranger face to face (met the Ranger face to face)
One shot rang out across Pecado
Then the street fell quiet again
My boy came down from off the rooftop
And I met him by the bend
We walked the square and checked the houses
Till the last of daylight died
Then headed back toward the station
Walking easy, side by side (Walking easy, side by side)
The desert wind swept through the square
Till every trace was gone
We checked the roofs, we closed the station
And took our posts at dawn
Tomorrow brings another plane
And another crew unknown
But the Pecado Rangers know these streets
And they’ll find us here at home (find us here at home)
Pecado Rangers, Pecado Rangers
Know these streets and they’ll find us here at home
Pecado Rangers, Pecado Rangers
